Finally made a start, after months of over-thinking.
I’m Soumyadeep and I code and stuff. — Hancock
I have been working on Machine Learning problems for the last 2 years. Through this page, firstly, I will share my experience on how to start working on real-life datasets. I have worked in projects as diverse as Weather, Email, Event Extraction from text, Emotion mining, Twitter and now on public Health. I am no expert, but I feel it will really you to get started.
Secondly, I will share resources and news with the aim of making Computer Science research accessible and understandable by the general population. As of now, I will be targeting the undergraduates and those starting their career in research like me.
Currently I am working as a Junior Research Fellow and an MS student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur.

Health Informatics, Information Retrieval, Natural language Processing, Machine Learning
My current research deals with the use of Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing techniques on publicly available clinical databases like ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews to develop end-to-end systems that will address the current challenges in Clinical Decision Support and improve the state-of-the-art in Healthcare delivery. Currently I am trying to develop methods to assist the clinicians to practice Evidence Based Medicine by developing domain-specific information summarization systems.
